The Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: The 8th summit of the European Political Community (EPC) will be held in the Armenian capital [Yerevan] on May 7, to which leaders and representatives of parliaments of a number of European countries are invited to discuss the most practical issues related to security, migration, infrastructure, and political cooperation.

And the European Union is taking urgent steps to deepen cooperation with Yerevan, also planning the first EU-Armenia summit. At the same time, the EU and Armenia are taking leading steps towards visa liberalization; the bilateral Visa Liberalisation Action Plan is already being discussed at the government level. The EU assessment on the course of the implementation of this plan is expected to be publicized in the spring, which could be an important legitimate step towards visa liberalization.

It became clear to the Zhoghovurd daily from the conversations within the ruling CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party and its parliamentary faction] that the [Armenian] authorities will receive a signed document during the days of the May conference [of the EPC]. The holding of the European Political Community summit in Yerevan, as well as possible initialings on visa liberalization, can be presented as significant foreign policy achievements for the [Armenian] authorities.
