Iraq’s Shiite movements, part of the so-called “Axis of Resistance,” have threatened to retaliate if the US continues to violate Iraqi airspace and delay the withdrawal of its troops from the country.

The respective statement notes that the US continues to interfere in Iraq’s internal affairs. Moreover, the Americans, using combat aircraft and drones, violate Iraqi airspace.

Also, Iraq’s Shiite movements believe that the US has not fulfilled its obligations under the agreement signed with the Iraqi government to withdraw all foreign troops from the country. Therefore, the aforesaid Shiite movements have stated that if Washington continues to maintain its presence in Iraq, they will take a position within the “legal right” of the Iraqi people to end the “occupation.”
