EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated that Israel must cease its operations in Lebanon.

According to her, diplomacy offers the best chance to prevent Lebanon from descending into chaos. "Hezbollah's decision to attack Israel in support of Iran endangers the entire region and adds a lethal element. Israel has the right to self-defense under international law," Kallas said. "At the same time, Israel's response has been excessively harsh. Its actions are causing mass displacement and further destabilizing a fragile situation," she added, emphasizing that "the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon must be respected."
