Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said Israel does not want an endless war with Iran and will coordinate with Washington on the decision of when to end hostilities.

However, he suggested the campaign could continue into next week. "We will continue until the moment when we and our partners deem it appropriate to stop [hostilities]," Sa'ar said, speaking to journalists in Jerusalem alongside his German counterpart.

Sa'ar noted that Israel seeks to eliminate existing threats from Iran "in the long term," characterizing newly appointed Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei as "an extremist."

He added that Israel's strikes on Iran are aimed at "creating conditions under which Iranians will be able to overthrow their rulers."

Sa'ar emphasized that there is an opportunity to create conditions for "regime change," but added that Iranians cannot "reclaim their freedom" until the war ends.
