STEPANAKERT. – On Wednesday, and in accordance with the arrangement reached with the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan, in the Hadrut direction near Horadiz settlement.

From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was carried out by Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria) and Jiri Aberle (Czech Republic), the Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

From the opposite side of the Line of Contact, the monitoring was conducted by Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine), the Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office; Simon Tiller (Great Britain), the Personal Assistant to the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office; and Peter Svedberg (Sweden), the staff member of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

The Karabakh side led the OSCE mission to its frontlines. But due to the shots fired from the Azerbaijani side, the field assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office found it advisable to interrupt the monitoring for safety reasons.

From the Karabakh side, representatives of the NKR Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense accompanied the OSCE monitoring mission.
