YEREVAN. - The indictment on the ‘offshore scandal’ has not yet been referred to the prosecutor, Yurik Khacahtryan, the attorney of the defendant Ashot Sukiasyan, Armenian entrepreneur, told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to the attorney, he has familiarized himself with the case materials. Responding to the question on which officials have been questioned in the framework of the case, the attorney mentioned Armenia’s former Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan and Trade and Markets Regulation Department Head Gagik Kocharyan.

The officials stated that such a meeting took place, proposals were made by the entrepreneurs, but the government didn’t deal with that matter.

Ex-PM Tigran Sargsyan, who is currently Armenia’s Ambassador to the United States, hasn’t been questioned, unlike Archbishop Kchoyan, who stated that he had nothing to do with the case.

‘The offshore scandal’ in Armenia broke out after the media disseminated information on the registration of the WLISPERA HOLDINGS LIMITED company in Cyprus, the shareholders of which are allegedly Armenia’s PM Tigran Sargsyan, Araratian Patriarchal Diocese Vicar Navasard Kchoyan  and entrepreneur Ashot Sukiasyan.
