The votes of the Iranian presidential elections of June 12, 2009 were recounted. The Guardian Council of the Constitution reported of the elections results credibility and reaffirmed that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won by a landslide.

The Chairman of the Guardian Council, comprises 12 clergy representatives, officially announced the recount completion by local Press TV channel broadcast.

The authorities intended to put an end to the conflict between the conservatives and reformists, where almost 20 lives lost.

Earlier, the Guardian Council claimed, that minor errors in the polling did not affect the election results.
