Iran is vowing a proper response in connection with approval of a new package of sanctions against Iran by the US Senate, PressTV reported quoting a senior adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Ali Akbar Velayati, Ali Akbar Velayati.
He noted that the step of the Senate contradicts the spirit of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) over Iran’s missile program.
According to him, Iran will study the situation and will give a proper response to Washington.
The U.S. Senate voted nearly unanimously on Thursday for legislation to impose new sanctions on Russia and Iran.
The bill should be approved by the House of Representatives, after which the president should sign it.
