Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit the Vatican on Feb. 5 at the invitation of Pope Francis, Turkish media reported Jan. 16.
It is expected that the US decision to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel will be discussed within the framework of the visit.
Erdogan’s visit to the Vatican will be the first one for the last 59 years at the level of the head of the Turkish state.
