YEREVAN. – The US Embassy had urged American citizens to be vigilant when visiting Armenia during the forthcoming Christmas and New Year holiday.
But in the respective statement which the Police of Armenia have disseminated, it is noted that the crime situation in the country does not cause concern, it is safe for both Armenian citizens and tourists, and it is under constant police surveillance.
“Numerous international organizations have assessed Armenia and capital city Yerevan as safe, and the police and other law enforcement agencies have all the opportunities and means and are doing everything to confirm that assessment and to fully uphold public safety,” the statement also reads. “And the Police [of Armenia] mandatorily pass to enhanced service, especially on holidays.”
