Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the authorities have agreed with Gazprom on preserving an internal price for Russian natural gas, RIA Novosti reported.

“Gazprom is selling gas not to Armenia, but to Gazprom Armenia company, and our role is indirect. But we agreed with Gazprom Armenia that the price will not change within the country,” Pashinyan said on the margins of the Davos Economic Forum. “The price will not change in the country, and we will continue our talks with Gazprom to achieve a final agreement, and it is very important for us to agree on a long-term price. There is a discussion on creation of common gas and energy market within the Eurasian Economic Union, and we have a lot of topics to discuss.”

In December Gazprom said they will increase gas price by 15 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas.

Gazprom Armenia, which is a 100 percent subsidiary of Gazprom, is suppling gas to the Armenian market.
