Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan informed the representatives of the Armenian community of Tehran about Armenia’s economic projects with Iran.

At his get-together with the community representatives, the PM presented the results of his meetings with the Iranian leadership, and he said most of these talks were about economic projects.

Pashinyan recalled that Armenia is interested in Iranian natural gas supply at a lower price than the country purchases from Russia. He added that in case of a favorable offer, Armenia may even become a transit country for Iranian natural gas supply to Georgia.

Tin addition, the premier stated that the importance of the construction of the third power transmission line between Armenia and Iran also was noted during the talks.

“We spoke about the ways to connect the Gulf to the Black Sea,” Nikol Pashinyan added. “There is [also] a project of Turkmen [natural] gas transit via Iran to Armenia, and then to Georgia.”
