Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Monday admitted the possibility of filing a lawsuit to international courts on US authorities amid their sanctions policy, Mehr News reported.

“Americans keep saying that they have been tricked into the nuclear deal, but this is wrong and both sides enjoyed the benefits of the deal, and nobody was tricked. The path we have taken is right and we will continue that. From the first day of this government, I announced that we were seeking to cooperate with the whole world, and we were going to respect anyone who treated us with respect,” the official website of Iran’s Presidency quoted him as saying.

Iranian leaders in recent months have repeatedly accused the US side of illegal actions to withdraw from a nuclear deal and increase pressure against Tehran. In December 2018, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stated that the US could not achieve its goals, despite the negative impact of US sanctions on the standard of living in the country.
