Nazeli Vardanyan, attorney of a group of residents of Jermuk city and Gndevaz village, has filed a petition to set a ban on exploitation of the Amulsar gold mine as a way of ensuring execution of the statement of claim to declare the expert conclusion as invalid.

“I have filed a petition to ensure execution of the statement of claim to set a ban on exploitation of the gold mine. Since the whole dispute is over exploitation of the mine, we are saying the activities should be terminated until the end of the trial,” she said.

However, the first instance court and the Court of Appeal have denied the claim. Currently, the claim has been submitted to the Court of Cassation, but it isn’t clear whether it will be accepted or not.
