Russia considers Israeli strikes on the territory of Syria unacceptable, said Alexander Lavrentyev, special representative of the Russian President on Syria, at the beginning of the "Astana" negotiations, RIA Novosti reported.

"Of course, we will consider the issue of frequent shelling of Syrian territory by Israel. We will have to pay attention to this issue, too. It's unacceptable," Lavrentyev said.

He recalled that earlier Israeli strikes on the airport in Damascus damaged the runway, which makes it impossible to accept international flights and ensure transit and arrival in Syria.

Lavrentyev also said that the negotiators will also consider the presence of the U.S. in Syria, which is engaged in "the plundering of the Syrian national assets," which should be "stopped."

On 15-16 June, high-level negotiations of the guarantor countries (Russia, Turkey and Iran) of the "Astana" process for settlement in Syria with participation of representatives of the Syrian government and opposition, as well as the UN, are held in Kazakhstan.
