Twelve additional traffic lanes have been opened from Russia to Georgia for passenger cars at the Upper Lars checkpoint, reported the press service of the Public Relations Department of the North Caucasus Customs Department.

It added that the aforesaid has enabled to increase the service capacity of this checkpoint and to reduce the lineup of vehicles there by ten times.

On Monday evening, 100 cars were waiting to leave Russia. On July 6, customs officials had reported that 1,500 cars were waiting to enter Georgia.
