Nine UN staff working with the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees have been killed in airstrikes in the Gaza Strip since Saturday, the UN said on its social media blog X.

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), created in 1949 after the first Arab-Israeli War, provides public services including schooling, primary health care and humanitarian assistance in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
