Russian President Vladimir Putin is meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Kyrgyzstan, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian President, the presidents intend to discuss the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh and the issue of Russian peacekeepers stationed there.

The parties also plan to discuss the possible return of Karabakh Armenians to their places of residence.

The meeting of the Russian leader with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan would have also been organized in Kyrgyzstan if he had come to participate in the CIS summit, Ushakov had said.

At the same time, he had emphasized that contacts between the Russian Federation and Armenia would continue, and the two countries had many topics to discuss.
