Utair airline has filed a lawsuit with the arbitration court of Tyumen region of Russia for the return of close to 176 million rubles (approx. $1.9 million) from Aquila Technics LLC (Yerevan, Armenia), according to the arbitration cases, TASS reports.

According to the arbitration case file, Utair previously had petitioned to the Tyumen region arbitration court for preliminary interim measures in the form of seizure of almost 175 million rubles (approx. $1.8 million) and $1.5 million in the bank accounts of Aquila Technics LLC. But the petition was returned to the airline because, as the court considered, it should be submitted to the Ugransky District arbitration court, at the place of registration of Utair.

According to the case materials, Utair stated that Aquila Technics LLC did not supply engines to the Tyumen airport for the airline's aircraft there.

"As the petitioner states, a supply agreement and an additional agreement were signed between Utair Airlines PJSC and Aquila Technics LLC on May 30, 2022, according to which the airline planned to receive engines. At the same time, Aquila Technics LLC, according to Utair, did not deliver them and did not return the money," the case materials state.
