Armenian archbishopric damaged during Aleppo clashes

Armenian archbishopric was damaged during clashes between the government forces and opposition in Aleppo, Xinhua reports referring to Syrian state-run SANA agency.

RPG shell launched by an armed group fell on one of Aleppo districts causing damages to the Armenian Orthodox archbishopric, the agency said.

According to SANA, military showdown continued on Saturday in northern Aleppo and Damascus suburbs.

Syria is home to 50-60 thousand Armenians. According to our source in Aleppo, the situation in Armenian-populated districts is normalizing. There is food supply to the Armenian districts.
