YEREVAN. - Big businessman, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Samvel Alexanyan congratulated the Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc member Nikol Pashinyan on the occasion of being elected an MP by the ANC proportional list. Alexanyan invited Pashinyan to the Parvana restaurant to celebrate holding free and fair elections, despite Pashinyan claims the opposite.
Alexanyan said that he invites his opposition colleague to attend an event, devoted to the holding “free, fair and transparent elections, as estimated by the international observers.” He believes that such election results were possible also due to the active work of the opposition and fair competition.
The RPA MP believes that the ANC MP’s participation in the event will promote for the latter’s coming closer with the voters of No. 7 precinct (where Alexanyan defeated Pashinyan during the elections) and will mark an effective start for further cooperation in the parliament.
To note, RPA majoritarian MP Alexanyan’s supporters have hampered Pashinyan to run an election campaign in that precinct.
