The ceiling of EU parliament fell down in Strasbourg.

The cave-in concerned three 25 square meter slabs of concrete, EUobserver e-source informs, stating that no victims were reported as the offices, that normally house communications staff, were empty on Saturday.

The damage to the ceiling was caused by heavy rains.

It is the second case within recent 1.5 years. Last time, a 10-tonne chunk of the ceiling in the Strasbourg plenary chamber fell down in August 2008.

The building was brought into operation in 1991 and is estimated at €38m.
