YEREVAN. – The “New Names” 2nd International Young Musicians’-Performers’ Festival will be held in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, from May 29 to June 1.

Around forty talented under-18 musicians from Armenia, Georgia, France, Russia, Malta, Uzbekistan, and South Korea are invited to this year’s festival. The number of this year’s participants is around a dozen more than the inaugural year, and its geographical scope differs, too.

The young musicians will perform together with the State Philharmonic and the State Chamber orchestras.

The overwhelming majority of the invited young musicians are the winners of international and national competitions and festivals and the recipients of scholarships from a variety of funds, and they have performed on numerous internationally-renowned stages.

But aside from performing in the Festival, its participants will also pay visits to Yerevan’s most important cultural monuments, Lake Sevan, and the Holy See of Saint Etchmiadzin.
