YEREVAN. – The prices in Armenia have reduced by 1.3 percent in May, as compared with April, the National Statistical Service informs.     

As a result, the 12-month inflation in the country reached a mere 0.5 percent as of May, and this is the minimum level in the past five years.  

There is a one-percent price drop in food products, including alcohol and cigarettes. But inflation was recorded in non-food items, with 4 percent, and in the service sector, with 1.7 percent.    

The consumer prices dropped by 2.8-0.6 percent in May, as compared with April, in all of Armenia’s monitored cities; and these prices dropped by 1.1 percent in the capital, Yerevan.
