Despite the Turkish Constitutional court decision, Kurdish Democratic Society Party members will not vacate their seats and join Peace and Democracy party, former co-leader of the disbanded party Ahmet Turk stated, Radikal daily reports.

“Turkish democratic parties, intellectuals and writers made a point of the fact that our MPs remain in the parliament. On Wednesday, Ocalan and his lawyers held a meeting in Imrali, where Ocalan has said that it is not a right decision to leave parliament and that this fight should continue,” Turk informed.

As expected, Ufuk Uras proposed Ahmet Turk and Aysel Tugluk who are banned of politicizing, as well as 19 MPs of Democratic Society Party can join Peace and Democracy Party, enabling them to form a new parliamentary faction.

Dec. 11 Constitutional Court of Turkey decided to dissolve “Democratic Society Party”. The official reason for closure is its linkage with Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) as well as the activities of the party, that are allegedly directed against the integrity and national unity of the state.
