Russia and Turkey agreed to cooperate in construction of the first Turkish nuclear power plant (NPP). RF Vice- Premier Igor Sechin and his Turkish counterpart Taner Yildiz signed the document Jan. 13, Interfax reports.
The agreement was signed as a result of the talks of both countries’ Premiers — Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
ITAR TASS recalls that Turkey invited a tender for NPP construction in Turkey’s Mediterranean coast in the end of September 2008. Turkish- Russian consortium was the only participant.
