YEREVAN. – The VivaCell MTS [mobile operator] and British BirthLink NGO announce the start of the third round of the program, which is targeted at improving neonatal care in Armenia, Viva Cell MTS press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. Maternity hospitals will be equipped in Armenia’s three regions, including Lori, Gegharkunik and Tavush hospitals, as well as the medical center in the capital city Yerevan.
“We managed to provide maternity hospitals in various regions with intensive rehabilitation system and hence, assisting the doctors in rescuing lives of vulnerable groups who fight against diseases,” VivaCell MTS Company head Ralph Yirikian said.
The experts report that due to the cooperation between the VivaCell MTS and the BirthLink NGO, the neonatal death toll is reduced by 11 percent, as compared to last year.
