Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bul-bul Ogly voiced official stance of Baku, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Elkhan Polukhov said, commenting on Ambassador’s warlike statements criticized by CSTO and Armenian Embassy in RF.
“Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia sent an official letter to RF Foreign Ministry that contains Azerbaijan’s position. Embassy does not launch any activities not coordinating them with country’s Foreign Ministry. Ambassador cannot represent Embassy only. His position is that of official Baku,” Polukhov said.
In the end of 2009 Polad Bul-bul Ogly stated that “the time for Karabakh conflict settlement has come.” “Each Azerbaijani should participate in the liberation of territories,” he underlined. The Ambassador recalled that there is major Azerbaijani Diaspora in Russia, underlining that much will depend on Russian Azeri residents if Karabakh conflict is settled by military means.
Later CSTO Secretariat issued a statement criticizing Azerbaijani Ambassador’s statement that calls on military solution to the conflict.
