YEREVAN. – A telephone conversation was held between Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan and US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern, at the latter’s initiative.
The Ambassador congratulated the PM for Armenia’s improving its indicators in the World Bank’s “Doing Business Report 2013” and pointed to Armenia’s considerable progress in this respect. He gave a high assessment to the Armenian government’s efforts to improve the public administration system and its determination to complete this process, the Government press service informs.
In his turn, Sargsyan stressed the importance of the US Government’s technical assistance in Armenia’s achieving progress in this domain.
Also, Ambassador Heffern recalled the positive trends which Armenia has registered in the domains of tax payments and investment protection and pointed to the need for continuing these trends.
At the end of the telephone conversation, John Heffern highlighted that the US Government stands ready to continue its technical assistance to the Government of Armenia, specifically to improve the country’s business climate. In response, Tigran Sargsyan pointed to Armenia’s readiness to continue the cooperation.
