YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Premier Tigran Sargsyan received Armenian Professor, British House of Lords member, and National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia (NCFA) Board of Trustees member Ara Darzi, who on Tuesday attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Armenian Oncology Center.        

“We are happy to collaborate with the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia. It will attempt to raise Armenia’s competitiveness and increase the entire potential of the Armenian people,” Sargsyan said during the meeting. He noted that NCFA’s activities will be geared toward engaging Armenia’s transnational corporations and stimulating small and medium-size business as well.    

In his turn Darzi stressed that he shares the Armenian government’s vision with respect to the directions of NCFA’s activities and expressed a readiness to assist in their implementation.  

Also, the interlocutors discussed the ongoing reforms in Armenia’s healthcare sector. The guest informed that during his meeting on Tuesday with the country’s Minister of Health, they reflected on this matter and examined the prospects for cooperation.

To note, former UK Secretary of State for Health, Professor, Lord Ara Darzi on Tuesday will attend a seminar devoted to the healthcare reforms.
