The Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, issued a message of condolence to the church and people of Bulgaria, in connection with the passing of Patriarch Maxim of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.   

“Dearly-departed Patriarch Maxim led Bulgaria’s Orthodox Christians with great devotion and zeal. Owing to his efforts, the Orthodox Church achieved significant progress in developing and reawakening the spiritual life in Bulgaria. As a true pastor, Patriarch Maxim also showed a strong will to preserve the strength and union of the Church. We knew him as a person with profound spiritual character. We will remember the late Patriarch in our prayers,” Karekin II’s message of condolence reads in particular.       

To note, a delegation from the Armenian Apostolic Church likewise will attend Patriarch Maxim’s funeral service to be held on Friday.
