Prefects of Armenia’s three border villages (Movses, Karmiraghbyur, Aygepar) informed Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk—the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-office—, and field assistants Hristo Hristov and William Pryor about the firing of shots from Azerbaijan. Their meeting was held Wednesday and following the OSCE monitoring.

According to Movses village head Ararat Avalyan, now, it is relatively tranquil as compared with the previous months, and in connection with the end of the field work. As a rule, the shots are fired more frequently during sowing and harvesting.  

Also, the village prefects informed the OSCE representatives that the Aygepar-Movses motorway—where this spring an Azerbaijani diversionary team that had infiltrated into Armenia and attacked a vehicle in which there were Armenian conscripts and three of them were killed as a result—is still unsafe to drive on.    

At the end of the meeting, the village heads asked the OSCE representatives to convey their wish to live in peace.
