YEREVAN. – A seminar within the framework of the TAIEX  (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument) project got underway Monday in Armenia’s Urban Development Ministry. A visiting European Union (EU) expert team likewise is attending this event.

Presenting Armenia’s system of urban development normative and technical documentation, it was noted that considerable work has been done in terms of forming an urban planning legislation in Armenia. But the need to improve this domain’s legislative basis and institutional makeup became apparent, too. 

As an urgent matter, the Armenian party specified the necessity to carry out a fundamental reform in the system of urban development normative and technical documentation, the Ministry press service informs.

In her turn, EU expert Edita Meškauskienė underscored the challenge of transitioning from the working normative to those of the European Union.
