BEIRUT. – St. Joseph church in Beirut, Lebanon held a concert of the Lebanon’s philharmonic orchestra on Nov. 9 conducted by Harout Fazlian and with participation of celebrity pianist Vardan Mamikonian. The concert was held within the frameworks of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

State officials, heads of political parties, accredited ambassadors in Lebanon, public figures, media and representatives of the Armenian community, as well as the leader of the Armenian Diocese Archbishop Gegham Khacheryan attended the event. Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan delivered an opening speech.

At the same time, advisor to the Lebanese Ministry of Culture Michel Shadarevyan touched upon the Genocide issue. The latter claimed that the concert reminds the Armenian Genocide to be the grief for not only for the Armenian people but it is a universal issue.
