YEREVAN. – The persons in charge at Armenia’s Ministry of Agriculture informed that the quarantine, which was declared in Vardenis district of the Gegharkunik Region and in connection with anthrax, will be lifted in several days, Hraparak daily reports.  

‘“The additional vaccination has ended, the quarantine must be lifted fourteen days after vaccination,’ [they said].

‘But why is quarantine not declared in the other regions?’, we asked those in charge. [But] They believe this is not necessary. ‘Solely six cows have died. Furthermore, a person is not infected by another person [in the case of anthrax]. How could it spread all through the entire republic? It’s just that there are stereotypes. Anthrax is ill-accepted among the people’ [they responded],” Hraparak writes.
