YEREVAN.- Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan received on Wednesday Rear Admiral  Mark Montgomery, US European Command’s Deputy Director of Plans, Policy and Strategy.

The goal of Montgomery’s visit to Yerevan is summing up the 2012 cooperation between Armenia’s defense ministry and European Command, as well as defining the main directions for cooperation in 2013.

The European Command considers Armenia a diligent and reliable partner both in terms of bilateral cooperation and peacekeeping efforts in Kosovo and intends to deepen collaboration in the coming years.  It was stressed that the terms of Armenian peacekeepers’ presence in Kosovo will be extended.

Seyran Ohanyan also thanked for effective cooperation, noting that Armenia is ready to continue and develop cooperation with the European Command in order to expand participation and preparedness of Armenian units during the international military exercise.

Rear Admiral Montgomery also visited the peacekeeping brigade of the Armenian Defense Ministry.
