“Azerbaijani media spread regular hoax voiced by illegitimate ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova, that NKR ombudsman’s membership to the European Ombudsman Institute (EOI) allegedly was not confirmed. The motive of Suleymanova’s behaviour is clear: a while ago she openly stated that would not allow NKR Ombudsman to join EOI. However, after admitting and realizing frustration of self to hinder it for 5 months was ignoring media questions on the matter, and perhaps being put into a corner Suleymanova decided simply to tell lie as if she was caught red-handed,” NKR Ombudsman Yuri Hayrapetyan said.

“Refuting Suleymanova’s blatant lie, I wish to remind you that NKR Ombudsman was admitted to EOI under institute board decree as of August 31, 2009. The copy of the decree is available upon request at [email protected],” Hayrapetyan concluded.
