YEREVAN.- Armenian Genocide recognition by Germany is realistic but, unfortunately, will hardly happen at least till 2015, professor of Free University of Berlin Zhirayr Kocharyan told reporters on Friday.

It is necessary to be in good terms with German intellectuals, to hold conferences, seminars to achieve effective results and raise awareness about the Armenian Genocide, he added.

“Azerbaijanis have a department in Humboldt University and will possibly open another on in the University of Berlin. Meanwhile, Armenians have only department at the University of Halle which gets no funding by the Armenian government,” Kocharyan noted.

Unlike France, Germany has no influential businessmen of Armenian origin to fund such projects.
