The fortnight Armenia and Azerbaijan have to submit their proposals concerning the points the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process have not so far agreed on can be regarded as “an appeal,” Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia parliamentary faction Aram Safaryan told NEWS.am.

According to him, if all the parties to the conflict consented to further negotiations in principle, they have to have sufficient grounds for continuing them. The principles to be agreed on are the grounds.

“I suppose that the Madrid Principles may contain points impossible to agree on within a fortnight. The problem is whether the Minsk Group will be able to harmonize the proposals to be put forward by the sides. They have to word hard,” Safaryan said.

In conclusion he stressed that Nagorno-Karabakh’s involvement in the negotiations can be considered essential progress.
