U.S. Defense Department gave a go ahead to Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan to provide NATO and U.S. forces in Afghanistan with foodstuff, equipment and services.

Thus, according to western media, the mentioned states are eligible of participating in the tender invited by Pentagon.

Under 1999 law on “Trade agreement” and Memorandum of June 2009, Pentagon was obliged to purchase American products only.

U.S. Defense Department had to add a separate reservation on equal participation in trade amendment, permitting Transcaucasian and Central Asian companies to join the process of North supply chain establishment and supply of NATO and U.S. troops in Afghanistan, CA-NEWS reports.
