YEREVAN.- Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received on Friday Thomas Melia, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.

Minister Nalbandian highly assessed American-Armenian cooperation, expressing gratitude for U.S. assistance to the democratic reforms carried out in Armenia.

In his turn, Thomas Melia noted that the U.S. will continue assisting Armenia’s democratic processes. The officials discussed results of the OSCE Ministerial Council as well as cooperation within international agencies.

They exchanged views on ongoing reforms, fight against corruption, efforts to strengthen human rights protection and touched upon the upcoming presidential elections.

Edward Nalbandian briefed the guest on the recent developments in the Karabakh peace process.
