YEREVAN. - It is unacceptable to link Armenia-Turkey normalization process to the settlement of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani conflict, Armenian Parliament Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov said.

His remark came in response to the statement of Turkish parliament speaker Cemil Cicek made during the conference dedicated to Heydar Aliyev. Cicek said “restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity” is one of the preconditions for Armenia-Turkey reconciliation.

Turkey has nothing to do with the Karabakh peace process, Sharmazanov emphasized. The only threat to regional security is Azerbaijan with its propaganda of anti-humanist values.

Armenia and Diaspora are a family, Sharmazanov said in response to Cicek’s calls “to get rid of Diaspora’s tutorship.”

Instead of making ridiculous statements, Ankara must realize that Armenia and Diaspora will do everything for international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, he added.
