Lieutenant General Alexander Studenikin is appointed Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Chief of Staff, CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha informed. 

In his words, this decision was adopted during session of the Council of the Defense Ministers of the CSTO states—which includes Armenia—that is convened Wednesday in Moscow. Studenikin’s nomination for this post was agreed upon beforehand with the delegations from all CSTO countries.   

Prior to this appointment, Lieutenant General Alexander Studenikin was serving under the commander-in-chief of the ground troops of the Russian Federation, Interfax News Agency reports.
