Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, and National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan attended, on Wednesday in Moscow, joint session of the Committee of the Foreign Ministers Council, Defense Ministers Council, and Security Council Secretaries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).      

The participants discussed and approved the agenda of the Collective Security Council session to be convened on the same day.  

The ministers specifically reflected on several draft documents with respect to strengthening the military component of the CSTO until 2020, development of the collective response system in emergency situations, Uzbekistan’s CSTO membership, and the avenues for improving the situation in Afghanistan.  

Several documents were signed as a result of the joint session, at the end of which the chairmanship of the aforesaid committee was transferred from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan.
