YEREVAN. – The Central Election Commission of Armenia at 6.00 p.m. on Friday closed the application submission process for participation in the next presidential elections.
Only 7 candidates submitted all the necessary documents, including the receipts pledge, Commission’s press secretary Hermine Harutyunyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Hence, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, parliamentary opposition Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian, opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) former member, Freedom party head Hrant Bagratyan, head of the National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan, former Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] FM Arman Melikyan, head of the Radio Hai Andrias Gusakyan and a non-party saga expert Vardan Sedrakyan will run for the next president of Armenia.
