At their meeting in Ankara, February 3, Beşir Atalay, Turkish Minister of the Interior, and Raymond T. Odierno, Commanding General, United States Forces – Iraq, discussed issues of struggle against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. Attending the meeting were also the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Vice-Chief of the General Staff , Turkish Armed Forces, Chief of the Head Police Department and Chief Advisor to the Intelligence Service.

The sides chiefly discussed the problem of Kurdish camps in northern Iraq, as well as the details of a new struggle against the PKK on three fronts.
