RF President Dmitry Medvedev invited CIS state leaders to May 9 parade on the occasion of 65th anniversary of Victory to be held in Moscow, as well as informal summit timed to festivities, said Russian President at the Feb. 4 meeting with CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev, ITAR-TASS reports.

“I invited CIS leaders to an informal summit, as on the threshold of our common holiday this is very logical,” Medvedev stated.

According to Lebedev, the preparation of the meeting that should become a “momentous event” in the frames on Russia's CIS presidency in 2010 is underway.
Speaking of other significant events, planned under Russian chairmanship in commonwealth, Lebedev informed that first one will be the economic forum of CIS states on March 5 in Moscow, devoted to Russia's initiatives in CIS.
