In 2012, the active work in terms of the implementation of IPAP Armenia - NATO for 2011-2013, on cooperation in the areas of disaster management, peace-building, public diplomacy and defense policy was continued. This is stated in the report of the Armenian MFA in 2012.

According to the report, on March 6, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended and spoke at the meeting in the format of “NATO + Armenia”. On September 6 NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen visited Armenia, and was received by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. On April 19, in Brussels, Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan, attended the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries, of members of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan. On May 21, at the NATO summit in Chicago Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan took part in a meeting of the countries - participants of Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan. On November 1-8 a “NATO Week” was held in Armenia.

In addition, in 2012, Armenia continued participation in multinational peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. 126 Armenian peacekeepers continued participation in the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan. In December 25-29, a delegation headed by Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan visited Afghanistan.
