ETCHMIADZIN. – Archbishop Nourhan Manoogian, who was elected Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, has not yet ascended to his patriarchal seat. Father Vahram Melikyan, Head of the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, told this Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To note, Archbishop Torkom Manoogian, the previous Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, had passed away on October 12, 2012 at the age of 93. Following his death, the General Assembly of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem had elected Archbishop Aris Shirvanian as Patriarchal Locum Tenens of the Patriarchate. An on January 24, 2013, Archbishop Nourhan Manoogian was elected as the new Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem.
