Brussels hosted the fourth round of Armenia-EU talks on deep and comprehensive free trade area.

Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Economy Minister Garegin Melkonyan, while Luc Pierre Devigne,  head of the European Commission’s Directorate General of Trade for Europe and Central Asia, represented the European Union.  

The fourth stage of talks recorded significant progress in all areas. Negotiating texts related to government procurement, sustainable development, customs, removal of technical barriers to trade and regulations’ transparency have been agreed with the European side.

The sides signed a document setting obligations and agreements of the parties with the respect to preparation for the next stage, foreign ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The fifth stage of Armenia-EU talks on creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area will be held in Yerevan this April. The sides will continue negotiations over the uncoordinated draft negotiating texts and a number of proposals.
